I believe that therapy offers an opportunity for individuals to grow and learn as the path of life unfolds. Therapy can be difficult, scary, and challenging for many, but at the same time, the reward is often times worth the effort as people tend to have a better understanding of themselves after the process takes shape. It is important to feel safe, listened to and taken seriously as the therapeutic relationship begins to develop. I work to create an environment that is safe, non-judgmental, and welcoming for all.

Through counseling and psychotherapy, people can learn to manage their situations and environments with new tools, techniques, and coping mechanisms. It is possible to find new ways of functioning and of living life.

As a clinical social worker, I have experience working with adolescents, adults across the life span, couples, and families. I have worked as a clinical social worker and supervisor with Montgomery County Social Services for over 20 years. I have also worked in psychiatric hospitals providing therapy and conducted crisis evaluations in hospital emergency rooms.

I am comfortable working with people regarding a wide range of issues. I am experienced in the areas of trauma, depression, anxiety, domestic violence, adoption, grief and loss, life transitions, psychological aspects of chronic health conditions, men’s issues and concerns, sexual functioning-comfort and LGBTQIA+ issues.

I have a Master’s Degree from the University of Maryland at Baltimore in Social Work and am a licensed clinical social worker in both Maryland (LCSW-C) and the District of Columbia (LICSW). I am a Board-Certified Social Work Supervisor in the State of Maryland.

Please feel free to contact me if you have questions, or if you wish to talk about how the therapy process may be of benefit to you or your family.
