As a psychotherapist, I use a person/family centered approach. You can expect to be empowered and motivated to rediscover your personal strengths and make lasting change. You will find that I am kind, empathic and compassionate. I have an admiration and respect for cultural diversity and will support your personal perspectives, values and beliefs.
After a long career working with children, youth and families, I made the decision to retire and take a step back from the hectic pace of public services. It was rewarding work, but I wasn’t quite ready to close the door to my clinical work with individuals and families.
While my previous career was based in the field of child protection, I developed a specialty in bringing families together to look at issues and solutions across all life domains. I have a particular interest in work with older teens; with a focus on their successful transition to adulthood. I connect with this clientele by highlighting their strengths and commending their resiliency. We then work toward transforming deficits and highlighting assets to bring about hope for a bright and productive future.
I welcome you to my practice and look forward to creating a therapeutic environment where learning and growing takes place. Feel free to contact me by phone: 301-428-3557; or by secure email.
